SO, I'm successfully on day 5 of being binge-free, but I still made a very BAD food decision today. I can't say I was clueless, I knew a chicken burrito from Moe's wasn't exactly "health food," but I figured grilled chicken, whole grain tortilla, nix the rice and beans and it can't be THAT bad. Cute, right? Needless to say, I was tragically wrong.
42 grams of fat. 2023 milligrams of sodium. SIXTY FOUR GRAMS OF CARBS!!!!!!!!!! and a WHOPPING 895 calories. My fiance asks me, "what was in it???" Apparently lard. Anyway, no more Moe's for me, no matter how yummy the burrito was, I can live without it's artery-clogging superpowers. This little experience has really brought into focus that just counting calories and thinking I know the basic ingredients in things is the WRONG way to go about this. This is a war against food and, more importantly, the food industry, and I will win because I'm armed with knowledge (are you envisioning me as a School House Rock character yet? :D). A lot of my bingeing behavior and general over-eating stems from making impulsive choices that are even worse because I choose dressed up fat bombs pedaled by the major fast food companies, who, in my opinion and according to several scientific studies, intentionally create addictive food combinations and INSERT addictive chemicals into their food. I'm over being addicted to fat. How gross. I'm making a commitment to myself to be much more aware of what I eat, and not put myself in impulsive, uneducated situations. Knowledge is power! :)
